My feminism is intersectional. Why is this you may ask? Well in my eyes I am a whole human being. My interests and passions vary wildly but they all come together to make up who I am. I am, by my own definition, a queer, fat feminist and all three of these are areas where I experience discrimination.

Feminism? What could it mean? We certainly didn’t know! On the 9th of November, we began to understand its exact meaning. Two speakers from the Y Factor arrived at our school to work with us on understanding and acknowledging the role of women in society.

Feminism is the belief in total equality between all sexes/genders and the need to organise and advocate in pursuit of this equality.
